Chandrabhedi Pranayam

Chandrabhedi Pranayam has a special significance in yoga practice and in our lives. Performing Pranayam daily helps in the better blood flow in the arteries and veins. This is a powerful Pranayam that can prevent the body from diseases related to kidneys.

What is the procedure to perform Chandrabhedi Pranayam?

  • Find a quiet and sophisticated environment and spread your mat on the ground.
  • Relax and sit down with a smile, now keep your neck, spine, and waist straight.
  • Place your left hand on your left knee and close the right nostril with the thumb of your right hand.
  • Take a deep breath and close the left nostril with fingers.
  • Hold your breath as long as you can.
  • Exhale slowly and repeat the procedure with the left nostril.
  • Practice this for at least 5-8 times during a session.

Ujjayi Pranayam

The word Ujjayi literally means – “the one who has conquered everything.” If you practice this Pranayam, you can win over any disease. Many serious diseases can be avoided by the regular practice of Ujjayi Pranayam if followed properly. It can be performed in three ways: sitting, lying and standing.

The first method of Ujjayi Pranayam: Sitting

To do this activity:
  • Sit in a posture of sukhasana.
  • Take a deep breath and hold it for a while.
  • Close the right nostril from your left hand and exhale slowly.
  • Remember, while inhaling and exhaling your throat should make noise an emitted sound.
  • Practice this procedure 5-6 times in the beginning and increase the number up to 20 times gradually.
The second method of Ujjayi Pranayam: Standing

Stand still, keeping both the legs adjoined and inhale by shrinking the throat and exhaling in this position. You inhale and release the breath in such a way that the friction from the respiratory tract comes and goes. Doing this will produce the same type of sound as pigeons do. While doing this action, inhale and exhale like this five to ten times. Then in the same way, by breathing in, relax the neck and then slowly relax, that is, exhale. Finally, relax the base.
The third method of Ujjayi Pranayam: Lying

  • Lie down on the clean and flat ground on your back keeping the body straight.
  • Now keep your palms close to the body on the ground. Keep the ankles close and keep the feet loose. Look straight up and take a natural breath.
  • Now remove all the body air from the mouth.
  • Note that you have to move the air very swiftly.
  • After exhaling, start breathing comfortably from both the nostrils. Let your body be free from the posture for the time being.
  • Now you hold the air inward and spread toes during this relaxation time.
  • Perform this activity only three to four seconds in the first week. After a few weeks, increase it to eight seconds.
Ujjayi Pranayam is the best way to relax your body and mind. It will help you in relieving the stressful conditions.

These medicines are not natural and work temporarily. These medicines put an extra burden on the kidneys that may affect the functioning.

Exercise daily and leave healthy

It is good to get up early and exercise. This habit keeps the body and its organs active and working. But too much exercising can also be dangerous for the kidney patient. So in such circumstances always consult with your doctor about what and how to do anything.

Don’t be so competitive

In today’s world, people are after the competition, focusing on how to get better with someone. This situation may lead to a few obnoxious levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. This may be because of the failure in the race of competition. So by keeping yourself happy will boost the functioning of kidneys or else it will give birth to diseases that can hamper kidneys’ lives.

The takeaway:

The key to a happy and healthy life is to eat healthily, think healthy and act healthy. Keeping the kidneys healthy is not a major task. All you have to do is practice yoga, follow a healthy diet and relax your mind.
