Nephrotic
Syndrome is a condition of kidney disease that causes kidneys to excrete too
much protein (more than 3.5 grams a day), due to the damage to a cluster of
small vessels (glomeruli) in kidneys, that filters waste and excess water from
the blood. Both Adults and Children can get affected by Nephrotic Syndrome.
Ayurveda believes in the balancing of the three doshas. Any
vitiation in any of the three doshas results into health issues/Diseases.
Nephrotic Syndrome, in particular, is caused due to the impairment of the pitta
dosha. Ayurvedic Medicines for Nephrotic Syndrome include medications for normalizing pitta
dosha
CAUSES OF NEPHROTIC SYNDROME
There might be such conditions in the body that affects only
the kidneys. These are referred to as the Primary causes of Nephrotic Syndrome
by the doctors.
There might also be such conditions that affect the other
organs of the body and also the kidneys consequently. Such conditions are
referred to as the Secondary cause of Nephrotic Syndrome, by the doctors.
Some of the conditions that damage the Kidneys are:
- Minimal Change Disease: It is the main reason behind the Nephrotic Syndrome in Children
- Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis or FSGS: It’s a disease that scars the glomeruli and is one of the primary reasons for Nephrotic Syndrome in Adults.
- Membranous Nephropathy: In this condition, the membranes of the glomeruli thicken, resulting in impaired kidney functions and Nephrotic Syndrome.
- Diabetes: It is the most common secondary cause of nephrotic syndrome in adults known as Diabetic Nephropathy.
- Lupus: It is a chronic disease of the
immune system that damages the kidneys resulting into Nephrotic Syndrome.
